Please note that upon appointment to any Board or Commission, the applicant is required to be sworn in at the City Clerk's office and to sign an oath.

Board of Assessors
The Board of Assessors shall perform the following functions review and sign all tax warrants to be committed to the Tax Collector; and act as a Board of Tax Review on all appeals from assessments and sign all appeal forms after their action. Perform other functions as required.

Board of Library Trustees
Trustees have the entire charge and management of the library and all property of the city relating thereto and all money raised or appropriated for its support and maintenance and all money or property that the city may receive by donation under any will or otherwise for the library.

Building Code Board of Appeals
This Board reviews appeals filed concerning decisions of the building official.

Capital Improvement Committee
This is a Committee established by the City Council to prepare and recommend a plan of capital improvement projects, projected over a period of at least 6 years, including the probable source of funding required to implement each proposed project.

City Council
The governing body of the City is an elected mayor and an elected Council.

Conservation Commission
This Commission was established to promote and develop the areas natural resources and the protection of the City's watershed resources.

Downtown Tax Increment Financing Advisory Board
The Downtown TIF Advisory Board was established to advise the City Council on planning, construction and implementation of the development program and maintenance and operation issues within the Downtown District.

Heritage Commission
The Heritage Commission was established to insure the proper recognition, use and protection of resources, primarily man-made that are valuable for their historic, cultural, aesthetic, or community significance within their natural, built, or cultural content.

Human Relations Committee
The Laconia Human Relations Committee is a Mayor's Committee to cultivate a community-wide climate that does not tolerate prejudice of any kind which undermines the dignity of any person.

Laconia Airport Authority
The Authority was established to maintain an airport in the town of Gilford or elsewhere in Belknap County and in connection therewith and as a part thereof, to establish and maintain auxiliary landing places and facilities in Belknap County and towns contiguous to Lake Winnipesaukee.

Laconia Housing & Redevelopment Authority
The Authority is authorized to proceed with a study of need of redevelopment of blighted areas and has the right to accept and use gifts and grants for the exercise of its functions from any private or government source.

Lakeport TIF District Advisory Board
The Lakeport TIF Advisory Board was established to advise the City Council on planning, construction and implementation of the development program and maintenance and operation issues within the Lakeport TIF District.

Lakes Region Planning Commission
In any county in which a regional planning commission has been formed, a community may become a member and is entitled to representation.

Licensing Board
The Licensing Board has charge of granting licenses provided for by the City's Licensing ordinance.

Motorcycle/Special Events Committee
Any person or property owner using their land for temporary vendors, temporary camping, temporary structures or temporary parking during Motorcycle Week shall apply to the Motorcycle Technical Review Committee for approval.

Parks & Recreation Commission
The Commission is responsible for overseeing the improvement, care, regulation and general management of the parks, as well as to provide recreational programs for the citizens in the City.

Personnel Advisory Board
The Board's responsibilities are to study the broad problems of personnel policy and administration, to advise the Council concerning personnel policies, to hear appeals from any employee aggrieved as to the status or condition of their employment.

Planning Board
The Planning Board is responsible for the development of a Master Plan for the development of the city.

Police Commission
The Police Commission has the full power to make all the rules for the government of the City's police force and enforce those rules.

Putnam Fund Advisory Committee
The Committee, working with the Trustees of the Trust Funds, uses the income from the Perley and Ellen Putnam Free Lecture Fund to provide free entertainment (lectures, theatrical, etc.) to the citizens of Laconia.

Technical Review Committee
The Technical Review Committee shall have authority to accept or reject applications and to approve or disapprove applications for minor site plan approval.

Trustees of the Trust Fund
The Trustees receive all trust funds donated or bequeathed to the City.

Water Commission
The Commission oversees the construction, replacement, management, maintenance, control and direction of the Laconia Water Works.
