The collection arm is on the right side of the automated trash collection truck. This controls where residents can place their solid waste containers for collection. Also, there are some dead-end roads where the contractor’s trucks back down the street to collect solid waste as there is no place where the truck can turn around. The contractor has finished identifying the streets where the cans must be placed on one side of the road.
For these streets, Public Works has created a map to help residents identify which side of the street to place their solid waste containers. There is a color-coded map that identifies the side of the street to place the containers by odd or even address numbers.
The map can be found on the City’s website on our “Trash Collection Update” page. Questions? Please call the Department of Public Works at 603-528-6379.
