Licenses may be applied for at any town or city clerk's office. The process does take approximately 30 minutes, so please plan accordingly. We will not be able to issue a license same day if you arrive after 3:30 p.m. You may contact us at 603-527-1265.

A document that proves your identity and age, such as a driver's license, non-driver's ID, or passport, as well as a certified copy of your birth certificate.

Your license is good for 90 days from the date of application, so be sure to come in within that time frame before your wedding.

Each party previously married would need to bring a the certified document that ended his/her previous marriage, such as a divorce decree, annulment paper, civil union dissolution or death certificate.

No. You can use the license in any New Hampshire city or town.

No. If you are getting married in another state or country, you will need to contact that location.

Yes. The application must be completed in person and signed by both applicants.

Licenses are $50.00. This fee is non-refundable.

Certificates are available for $15 for the first copy and $10 for each subsequent copy following the filing of the license by the officiant performing the ceremony. You can go to any town or city clerk's office to obtain a copy of your marriage certificate within 10 days of being married.
