Parking

The Winter Parking Ban

As of November 1, vehicles and trailers cannot be parked on a public street from midnight to 6:30 am. This allows Public Works crews to plow snow piles back against the curb and clear snow from the streets when there is little traffic on the street. Vehicles parked on a public street during this time may be ticketed or towed at the discretion of the Police Chief or the Public Works Director.

A Few Notes about Parking . . . .

  • Bicycles are not allowed to park in the parking garage on Beacon Street East.
  • Overnight parking is not allowed in City Lots.
  • Please do not block the sidewalk with a parked car -- even if its in your driveway.  People with disabilities may not be able to pass.  In the winter, the sidewalk plows need to pass through to do their job.
