Curbside Pick Up

Truck for Curbside Collection of Recyclables

Trash

Curbside collection of residential municipal solid waste is weekly.  All trash needs to be inside a bag AND inside a container.  No loose plastic bags or trash on the ground or in other containers will be collected.  Solid waste must be placed curbside by 6:00 am on the designated collection day. See the Curbside Pick Up Map to determine your collection day

To allow for mechanical collection, containers along the road should be at least 3 feet apart from each other, parked cars, trees, mailboxes and utility poles. Avoid places where there are low hanging tree branches or power lines. Containers should be upright with the hinge of the lid oriented away from the street.

Recyclables

Recyclables are collected every other week. See the Curbside Recycling Calendar to determine which weeks recycling gets picked up.  Plastic bags and styrofoam are NOT recyclable. For more information about what is recyclable, see our Recycling Guidelines.

Bulky Items

Bulky item collection is available only for those residents who are on the City’s curbside collection routes.  If your condominium or homeowner’s association trash  is collected by a another agency,  the City will not collect a bulky item from  your curb unless it is brought to the curb of a City or State right-of-way.

Make an appointment

Curbside collection of both metal and non-metal items are done by appointment only. Metal items will typically be collected on the first Wednesday of the month, and non-metal items will typically be collected on the second and third Wednesdays of each month. Call the DPW at 528-6379 to get added to the collection roster.

Bulky Item Stickers

A "Bulky Item Sticker" should be attached to each bulky item to be taken. Stickers may be purchased at the Laconia City Clerk's Office in City Hall, or at Public Works.

No electronics (TV’s, computers, monitors, microwave ovens, . . .), No freon containing items (refrigerators, air conditioners, dehumidifiers . . . ), and No ammonia hydroxide containing items (such as propane powered refrigerators)  will be accepted for curbside pickup.

Do not place any bulky items at the curb until after 7 pm the day before your collection day.  All bulky items must be left curbside by 6:00 am on the day of collection.
