To File a Complaint
The Department encourages and welcomes constructive criticism and complaints from the public against members of the Department or its procedures. The Department will investigate all complaints to equitably determine whether or not the allegations are valid or invalid and then take appropriate action. To file a complaint, either go to the Police Department and request to speak with the on-duty supervisor or call us at 603-524-5252 and request to speak to the supervisor.
CALEA Public Comment Portal
The Laconia Police Department earned professional accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA). The Commission's program improves the delivery of law enforcement services by offering 446 professional standards developed by law enforcement practitioners that cover a wide range of up-to-date, best practice law enforcement topics.
Part of this process requires the agency to publicly post a link, for 60 days, seeking public comment, commendations, and other information regarding the agency's quality of service or other information relevant to the accreditation process.
