Sewer work has started on Court Street between Fair Street and the Main/Union/Court intersection. Once the sewer main and services are complete, drainage work will begin in the Main/Union/Court intersection and then on Court between Fair and Main Street. Paving, sidewalks and pedestrian signal upgrades are scheduled to be complete this year. Gas main work at the Durkee Brook bridge is expected to resume in September.
Union Avenue – Elm Street to Stark Street
Once the gas main work is completed, drain installation will continue on Union Avenue toward Walnut Street. A traffic detour will be in place when crews are working near the Union/Elm/Clinton intersection. The detour will be removed and the traffic pattern will switch to one-way alternating once the crews are a safe distance from the Elm/Clinton intersection. Construction is expected to continue to November 2019 and resume in Spring 2020.
Utility upgrades are nearing completion on Messer Street from Union Avenue to Bisson Avenue. Once all work is complete, the road will be reclaimed and paved. Work is expected to be complete by late August.
